Ferring Parish Council
Ferring Parish Council consists of twelve elected and co-opted members who live in the village and give their service on a voluntary basis. The Councillors are assisted by your Parish Clerk.
The Council has no political, religious or ethnic affiliations and its income is received via a modest contribution in the Council Tax.
The Council’s objectives are to look after village interests and improve facilities for all of its residents. It can only meet those objectives by efficient collaboration with Arun District Council and, on wider issues, West Sussex County Council. The Parish Council also works with the Environment Agency, the Police and local organisations and businesses for the effective delivery of services to the community.
Ferring Parish Council believes that every resident, whatever their age or means, should benefit in some way from being a part of Ferring Village. The views of residents are actively sought in respect of all matters of village life and questions or comments on local issues are welcomed at regular Council meetings.

So what does your parish council do?
Your local council’s primary responsibility is for the well being of the village. Its work falls into three main categories:
- Delivering services to meet local needs.
- Representing the local community.
- Striving to protect and improve the environment, amenities and quality of life in the village.
For example, the council provides, maintains or contributes to the following services:
Allotments; Bus shelters; Car parking; Community Centres; Community safety schemes; Community transport schemes; Cricket, Football and Tennis Clubs; Crime reduction measures; Cycle routes; Festivals and celebrations; Footpaths and bridleways; Grant scheme; Leisure facilities; Litter and dog bins; Local youth projects and playground; Parks and open spaces; Planning; Public lavatories; Road safety; Street cleaning; Street lighting; and more!
